Design, innovation and sustainability improve life and create links between the old and the new. Cristina believes that design = responsibility. As a contextual fashion designer she wishes to put human needs at the center of her work.
In autumn 2015, she started a new life phase in design, as she wished to develop her work based on design thinking and circular economy with an interdisciplinary approach. The goal was to establish a new design process that would bring more value to the wearer and the environment; it would address not only aesthetics but certain needs as well.
Her two year design “journey” in Denmark expanded her knowledge regarding sustainable practices within the fashion industry, circular principles, design methods and business models. The result lies in the creation of a more conscious and sustainable design, as she believes that fashion has an added value to the world apart from aesthetics. A manifestation of this is SOLVE, a design & consultancy studio of innovation in sustainability, of which Cristina is the founder of.
In the meantime, she has a close collaboration with VIA Design & Business University College, as a sustainability consultant for VIA Student Incubator Herning, but also as a guest teacher for sustainability-focused projects. She is also one of the two founders of the Sustainable Business Design & Entrepreneurship HUB, a learning hub for sustainable innovations within the fashion & lifestyle industry dedicated to students and teachers at VIA Design.
